Warrenton CVS manager found dead

Officials with the Warrenton Police Department says that a CVS manager was found dead outside the store near a dumpster. According to NBC Washington, officers were called to a CVS Pharmacy in Warrenton, Virginia around 10:36 p.m. about a deceased person.

After arriving at 510 Blackwell Road, Warrenton Police discovered the body of Rex Mack Olsen, of Culpeper. The 64-year-old was reportedly an employee with CVS for 25 years, but he had been managing the CVS store in Warrenton since 2008.

Circumstances leading up to the CVS manager’s death is unknown, but Warrenton Police officials will be conducting an investigation to determine what happened to Olsen. His remains were transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine the exact cause of death.

CVS released the following statement:

“CVS Pharmacy is deeply saddened by the death of our Warrenton, VA store manager, Rex Olsen. We are fully cooperating with the Warrenton Police Department in their investigation of this tragedy. Rex was a valued employee of CVS for 25 years, and he was our Warrenton store manager since 2008.”

“We extend our sincere condolences to Rex’s family and friends, and our management team has contacted his wife to offer support. We want to thank the local community for their outpouring of support to our Warrenton store team during this difficult time. The company is providing additional support and counseling services for Rex’s CVS colleagues.”

Authorities do not believe that the public is in any danger.
