UPDATE A month after Kiara Jones was reported missing, police officials say she was found safe, Chicago Tribune reports. No other information has been released.


A Woodlawn girl is missing. Authorities say 14-year-old Kiara Jones was last seen on Tuesday, August 8, near the 6600 block of South Vernon Avenue. She is described as a 5-foot-9 African-American female, weighing 168 pounds with a “Bob” hairstyle, brown eyes, and medium brown skin complexion.

She was last wearing a “black and white crop shirt, cut up jeans, and furry flip flops,” according to Fox 32 Chicago.

Police officials say she could be near 71st and Bennett as she is known to “frequent the lakefront.”
