Authorities in Virginia Beach, Virginia, are investigating the death of a 54-year-old man after a vehicle fell on top of him. According to 13 News Now, at around 4:35 p.m. on Sunday, police officials received a call about a man trapped under a vehicle at an auto body repair shop in the 3600 block of Bonney Road.
When emergency medical services arrived at the scene, they discovered the body of James Winthrop Harder. It was later uncovered that while Harder was working on a vehicle at MAACO Collision Repair, it fell on top of him.
Circumstances leading up to the incident is unknown; however, police officials do not suspect foul play at this time, but an investigation into Harder’s death is underway, WAVY-TV reports.
After the incident, the Virginia Beach Auto Body Repair Shop shut down, but it reopened the following day.
Harder’s funeral service will be held at the Altmeyer Funeral Home – Maestas Chapel in Virginia Beach on October 17 between 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. at 1801 Baltic Avenue.
